If you had the opportunity to embed the values of mutual trust and respect in the hearts of every youth -- would you ask who?

If you had the answers to empowering a community while building confidence in future generations -- would you ask what?

If you had the ability to enable individuals with strong, communicative skills taught through the spirit of the horse -- would you ask when?

If you could provide youth with alternative skills to draw from when faced with negative influences -- would you ask where?

If you could build strength in the school, pride in the community and confidence in every heart -- would you ask how?

Join us on this powerful journey of teaching, learning and understanding; explore the integrating feedback from horses while we teach you how to develop your professional facilitation skills. Equine Assisted Learning provides the answers to each of these questions, quite simply . . . It works!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Keen Ridge Equine Center invites you to partner with us to make a difference in the lives of youth in the community.

Equine-assisted learning experiential learning opportunities have proven to be a practical approach to teaching youth alternative skills when faced with difficult challenges and negative influences.

The Keen Ridge Equine Center provides an opportunity to work through a BuildingBlock™ equine-assisted learning program specifically designed to bring out the best in those that enter as participants while using 'Horse Sense'. Our goals are to help as many individuals feel better about themselves, increase their self confidence, inspire them to reach their full potential - to make a difference in their lives.

Each exercise is custom designed to maximize the progressive learning potential and focus on developing individual skills as they work through each interactive group challenge. Teams will work to: develop relationships; accept responsibility and accountability; overcome barriers to find change; be encouraged to be creative and innovative; find opportunity in working together; realize the benefits associated with effective communication; and recognize the value of mutual trust, respect, and personal integrity.

BENEFITS:

When teams learn to work together as horses in a herd do, they learn how to value the strength of an individual and the significance each bring to the effectiveness of the team. If they can learn how to put aside "the manure" teams can become more successful while they use each individual's strengths for the betterment of the team. Thus effectively working as a unit.

Participants will:

    * become efficient communicators and effective communicative listeners
    * develop healthy relationships and learn problem solving skills
    * find success over obstacles and learn to appreciate each other
    * build confidence & self esteem and overcome fear & develop confidence
    * develop personal work ethics, responsibility & appropriate assertiveness
    * observe the nature of the horse and realize it's importance to social success
    * learn the importance of hierarchy and learn the value of work and having fun
    * learn the importance of having; distinct personalities, attitudes & moods
    * engage in discussion & activity to learn more about the horse & themselves
    * abilities to be smart risk takers and fair minded team players
    * ability to create a win/win environment
    * improve group decision making and problem solving
    * along with other important personal development and leadership skills

Since horses require work to care for, train & ride, they will learn that the "easy way" is not always the right way. To find success, they will learn that horses require physical and mental work — a valuable characteristic in all aspects of life.

Most importantly, horses have the ability to mirror exactly what body language tells them. "This horse is stubborn", "this horse doesn't like me", but the lesson to be learned is that if they change themselves, the horse responds differently. Because horses will not lie. It is through this honesty that makes a powerful message.
The bottom line . . . It simply works
